AFRICAN ISRAELITE JUSTICE FOUNDATION
Welcome to The African Israelite Justice Foundation where we aim to shed light on the term "Black Hebrew Israelites" and address the derogatory connotations associated with it. Unfortunately, this term has been repeatedly misused and manipulated by African Israelite antagonists to perpetuate false stereotypes and defame the rich history and beliefs of a peaceful law-abiding people. Let's explore the truth behind this term and unravel misconceptions surrounding it.
Derogatory:
The derogatory term "Black Hebrew Israelites" refers to a diverse group of African Israelites who are descended from ancient Israelites. It’s important to note, the term “Black Hebrew Israelites” is NOT a term African Israelites use to refer to ourselves. Instead, the term is often used by others to advance defamatory, hurtful troupes. It is a Hate Speech term used to imply negative connotations. Over time, the term has been used to perpetuate false stereotypes which misrepresent the beliefs and practices of the African Israelite community.
Antagonistic Agenda:
It is crucial to recognize that the term "Black Hebrew Israelites" has been weaponized by African Israelite antagonists seeking to defame and create false narratives regarding African Israelite history. This agenda aims to undermine the legitimacy of our beliefs and create divisions within society. To address these misconceptions, it is essential to engage in open and respectful dialogue to discover the truth. The African Israelite community encompasses a wide range of beliefs and practices, and generalizations based on false narratives do a disservice to the rich cultural and historical heritage of our members.
The Illusion of Violence
Over the years African Israelite antagonists have levied baseless, false accusations of violence against African Israelite communities. These claims tend to follow a certain pattern. Find a black man who committed a violent act, scour his social media posts for any statements, sentiments, or interest in Black Hebrew Israelites, if discovered…label him a Black Hebrew Israelite! No, he doesn’t need to be part of a congregation. No, he doesn’t need to be an active member. In fact, he doesn’t even need to be a follower of the Black Hebrew Israelite faith at all. According to the African Israelite antagonist, all one has to do to be called a Black Hebrew Israelite… is make a Facebook post four years prior to committing a crime. Take the December 10, 2019 Kosher Grocery murder for example. This heinous act was carried out by two African Americans, a retired army veteran and his accomplice. Shortly after committing the murders, a search was made of their social media accounts in which a four-year-old post was discovered which showed a brief interest in Black Hebrew Israelites. This abbreviated four year old interest lasted only six months (from July 2015 to December 2015 per Facebook posts). In fact, his final Facebook post revealed his frustration and dislike for Black Hebrew Israelites before deleting his Facebook profile. He then moved onto pursuing other interests. Ultimately, despite showing a dislike for Black Hebrew Israelites, he was still referred to as a Black Hebrew Israelite by the Anti-Defamation League and Manhattan Institute four years after expressing a brief interest in the group. This twisting of fact and fiction by the ADL and its accomplices are at odds with law enforcement investigators who stick to facts and truth. New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, who led the investigation into the 2019 December 10th murder, stated there was no connection between the murderers and Black Hebrew Israelites. He states "We have not definitively established any formal links to that organization or to any other group. Based on the available evidence we believe that the two shooters were acting on their own." In other words, the December 10, 2019 Kosher Grocery murderers were not committed by so-called Black Hebrew Israelites.
A Pattern of False Accusations
Unfortunately, the Kosher Grocery attack wasn’t the only African Israelite slander attempt. Defamation entrepreneurs also attempted to re-imagine a black assailant as a Black Hebrew Israelite assailant following the December 29, 2019 Hanukkah attack. During this attack, a mentally ill black man attacked 5 people at a Hanukkah celebration. A search of the perpetrator’s belongings by investigators uncovered a notepad with the words “Hebrew Israelite” “ebidnoid Israelites” written down on a notepad. These four words written on notepad were all African Israelite antagonist needed to justify re-imagining the attacker as a Black Hebrew Israelite. Apparently simply writing the words “Hebrew Israelite” on a sheet of paper…makes one a Black Hebrew Israelite? Likewise if someone writes the words Christian on a sheet of paper, does that make one a Christian? Comically, no one noticed the fact that the word “ebidnoid”...isn’t actually a word. Yet another example that claims of Black Hebrew Israelite violence are ridiculous at best.
The Non-Violent African Israelite
Perhaps you’re thinking, are all those claims of African Israelite violence untrue? Surely there’s one or two accusations of violent Black Hebrew Israelites that’s factual? Well, what about the re-imagined 2021 Waukesha Wisconsin Christmas parade attack claimed Black Hebrew Israelite inspired violence accused by the Manhattan Institute? Five years before committing the crime, the assailant posted a reference by Hitler who said the Negroes were the real Jews. Does the act of posting this quote five years before committing a crime make someone a Black Hebrew Israelite? Absolutely not, posting a quote from Hitler on one’s social media page five years before committing a crime doesn’t make someone a Black Hebrew Israelite. Well, what about Yahweh Ben Yahweh in Miami? He was a self proclaimed Black Hebrew Israelite living in Miami back in the 70s. Wasn’t he a violent Black Hebrew Israelite? No, he was never convicted of a violent crime. Instead, he was convicted by a RICO law for conspiracy. RICO laws are notorious for their biased use against black men and their low burden of proof required for conviction. It’s a controversial tool used against the Black community. The fact is, accusations of violent Black Hebrew Israelites are false. These types of defamatory, and slanderous lies MUST STOP! Ultimately organizations who continue to peddle in these dangerous, slanderous falsehoods will be held accountable in a court of law.
Additionally, organizations who make these slanderous claims, also promote a false mysterious, elusive African Israelite ideology of violence. These organizations falsely claim African Israelites teach and believe an ideology of violence. Unfortunately for African Israelite antagonists, there’s no proof of this claim. African Israelites DO NOT TEACH NOR PROMOTE VIOLENCE. There’s no lesson, no book, no pamphlet, no directive to do so. There’s no doctrine which promotes violence against the United States government nor any of its citizens. In fact, to do so would be a violation of core African Israelite beliefs which are rooted and grounded in Torah (Biblical Law). Remember the Commandments, unlike other religious groups, African Israelites believe in following the laws of the bible. Thou shall not steal, thou shall not kill, thou shalt honor thy mother and thy father, remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, thou shall have no other gods before me…etc. African Israelites strive to be commandment keepers, not commandment breakers.
African Israelite History:
In addition to fabricating violent Black Hebrew Israelite criminals, antagonists of African Israelite communities also often perpetuate a fictitious origin story for African Israelites in the United States. Some false narratives claim African Israelites originate from the 1900s or 1800s in the US. These claims are based on poor scholarship which relies primarily on contemporary sources which lack primary source testimonies. However, books and references published before 1850 describe the long perilous journey of Spanish and Portuguese African Israelites to the United States and abroad. These old publications consistently describe Spanish and Portuguese Israelites as black, swarthy, dark complexion, negro, very dark, and very black. In addition to establishing their dark brown complexion, old references also trace African Israelite roots all the way back to the land of Israel during the time of King Yeconiah. Yes, there’s actual genealogy which traces from King David to King Yeconiah, to a black people called Yahyah who eventually changed their names to Negro in Spain and Portugal. This can be found in the German book “Jüdische Familienforschung (Berlin, Germany : 1924-1938)” page 486. You see, the name Negro is actually a famous Spanish and Portuguese Israelite name. Additionally, the word “Negro” did not refer to someone of African decent until after the year 1555, after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain and Portugal.
Just prior to the start of the transatlantic slave trade, Negroes were the governing Isrealite family in the region. They remained the head Israelite family until falling out of favor with the ruling monarchy. After which, they were persecuted and expelled from Spain and Portugal to the West Coast of Africa, less than 10 years before the start of the transatlantic slave trade. They were expelled or fled to the exact same places from which the transatlantic slave trade would ship slaves from less than ten years later.Few people have taken the time to read the actual Portuguse law which authorized and governed the transatlantic slave trade from the west coast of Africa. This law was called the Manueline Ordinances. These laws authorized the enslavement and selling of the dark brown complexioned Spanish and Portuguese African Israelites into slavery. Yes, the actual laws which started the transatlantic slave trade were laws against Spanish and Portuguese Jews, called lancados, degradados, or tangamous. Additional proof of the sale of these Israelites to the West Coast of Africa can be found in Inquisition laws of banishment along with African Israelite names listed on trans-atlantic slave manifest. Tales of this history are also described in old books published before 1850.
If you're new to the truth of African Israelites being the bonafide ancient Israelites of old, checkout the Lachish Relief. Ancient depictions of the tribe of Judah can be seen lining the walls of the London Museum in an exhibit called the Lachish Relief. This exhibit, which dates back to roughly 701 BC, depicts the ancient tribe of Judah being led away captive by Assyrians. Within this exhibit, high-definition ancient African Israelites can be seen with short, nappy, wooly hair. Additionally, archaeology at the Lachish site discovered a mass grave site associated with the conquest of the tribe of Judah by the Assyrians. Analysis of Lachish mass gravesite skulls reveal skulls of an “Egypto-Nubian'' tribe of Judah. This is just some of the evidence that testifies to the authentic identity of so-called African Israelites in the United States. Additional proof includes inquisition records which recorded African slaves being identified as Judaic observers. So-called African Americans unknowingly having the names of Spanish and Portuguese Israelites today.
If you’re interested in reading hundreds of old references which describe ancient African Israelite descriptions and history, checkout the following virtual library provided by Dante Fortson, “Black History In the Bible.” This website contains hundreds of references which testify to the true identity of the so-called African Israelites here in the United States and abroad (https://www.blackhistoryinthebible.com/). References can be found on the Omnidex tab on the main webpage.
In conclusion, the term Black Hebrew Israelites is a derogatory term used as a form of Hate Speech. The more appropriate term is African Israelite or simply Israelite. We are a diverse community with different beliefs and values. However, we all share a respect and reverence for Torah (the laws of the Bible) and strive to be commandment keepers, not commandment breakers. We are a people with a long rich history which traces back to Jerusalem and we have the artifacts and references to prove it. We are Israel. Remember, those who bless Israel, will be blessed. Those who curse Israel, will be cursed. Shalom.
